SPRINGTIME IN PARIS

I was in Paris recently and when I wasn’t doing working or running around to art museums, I  spent my time doing very little, sitting in cafés and watching people go by. Everyone just looks considered without trying too hard. It’s the best kind of inspiration. After a few days, I started noticing small patterns in how people were getting dressed. Not trends exactly, more like ways of putting things together that felt easy but intentional.

STRIPES AS A BASE

Stripes are everywhere right now, but what stood out was how they were being used. Almost like a neutral. Layered under something more expressive, they ground the look and add texture without competing. I also loved seeing stripes on stripes, especially with a clean, white jean.

ANIMAL PRINT, BUT CLEANER

Animal print feels different this time. Bigger, simpler pieces like a leopard skirt or barrel pant, worn almost like a neutral. It can go two directions, either clashed with something more unexpected, or kept tonal for a more classic feel.

SPRING, BUT NOT TOO SWEET

It was unusually warm for March, and you could feel that shift. Lighter layers, a bit more color, but still balanced. A cropped jacket with a slim skirt or dress feels like an easy way into Spring without it becoming overly delicate.

A HINT OF RED

Red kept showing up in small ways, socks, shoes, a single accessory. Just enough to lift everything else. I like the idea of keeping an outfit quite tonal and letting once color do the work.

DOUBLE DENIM, DONE SIMPLY

Denim on denim kept showing up in a very understated way. Less styled, more about good proportions and easy layers. A slightly oversized jacket with a straight or relaxed jean, often broken up with something simple underneath. It felt practical, but still sharp.

These are the pieces I've been reaching for to get that balance.
