The Godavari Kantha Quilt is an antique quilt which has been lovingly restored and dyed by hand. Ideal as a wall hanging, bed cover, table cloth, or draped over furniture, the antique patina lends warmth and emotion to the home.

About the Textiles Used: Kantha textiles are a zero waste textile. Traditionally made at home by women, utilizing scraps and remnants of cotton sarri's and other household textiles, the layers are held together with a fine kantha stitch. After the materials have been stitched together, intricate embroidery is layered on top as a decoration and personalization. Quilts like the Godavari Quilt that have beautiful examples of embroidery would traditionally have been made as gifts; love tokens, the birth of a child, and other special occasions.

This piece is 20-60 years old, and bears the careful handwork of many artisans. We have worked to carefully preserve the antique patina, and dyed it by hand.

It is an antique piece and should be treated with care. Patch washing is preferred, but the quilt can be occasionally washed on the delicate cold cycle and air dried.
