We love our Upstate NY community, so we thought we'd introduce you to a few of our favorite local Namai supporters. We asked them to curate their favorite Namai pieces on the website. See what our friends chose and why.

Jesse is a vocalist and composer currently focusing on collaborative songwriting in folk and film music. When she's not making music. she's renovating homes or exploring the Catskills with her boyfriends and roaming around abandoned resorts of the Borscht Belt era. Viva La Nevele! Jesse is an OG Namai supporter. She even commissioned us to make a duster for her boyfriend so that they could lounge around in Namai together.

What inspires you?

Creativity of any kind. From symphonies to swapping transmissions...I'm deeply inspired by learning new things and being witness to the creativity of living.

What are some of your go to recipes?

Healthy nacho cheese style dehydrated kale chips, enchiladas fully from scratch, super healthy winter soups and smoothies. I LOVE to cook, so I try to cook something fabulous at least a few nights a week.

What makes you laugh?

Usually inappropriate humor, dry humor, absurd humor. I love scare pranks too, I love how honest being frightened is. I don't mind being the recipient either, it makes me laugh just as much.

"This jacket has a subtleness to it that I really like. The contrast between the two sides is fantastic. I especially love the fringe!"

"I really love the embroidery, the burnt orange/brown is quite commanding! I also love the way this one feels, like a hug!"

"The big block colors make me so happy. How can you not be happy surrounded by this much color??"

Julian is a musician and music producer. He can often be found behind a drum kit at a local open mic, recording music with clients in his home studio or writing songs for his Masters degree in Songwriting at Berklee. Julian was actually one of the first people to buy our cotton trousers back in 2021 and has been a dedicated Namai supporter ever since.

Who do you surround yourself with?

I think ultimately I gravitate toward passionate people. They remind me to put that same energy into what I do.

What's your favorite Namai Style?

I started out with a jacket that I absolutely love but I have grown pretty fond of the vests - especially the Suzani ones! I love the practicality of it, the fit, the uniqueness (as usual), and how I get to pair it with my shirts a bit more than the jackets.

Have you been listening to any good podcasts lately?

Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin has been a frequented podcast for me. Coming back to passionate people, it is in-depth interviews with some pretty amazing folk. It is a nice break from all things music and welcome dive into other people's worlds

"I never imagined myself as a "vest guy" until I put the Namai vest on. It is super practical and warm in the right ways without being a whole thing."

"I mean, it's like if Hogwarts had style. Another easy to throw on statement pieces, but with POCKETS."

"I would wear this everywhere a coat or robe would be worn. But to be more specific, in my home studio. I spend any hours in a row working on a song and the cozier I can be the better."

Kelsey is a versatile multidisciplinary artist. From acting, singing and video editing to crafting handmade jewelry and knitwear she truly does it all. She is new to Namai and we are very lucky to collaborate with her on our videos.

Where do you get inspiration from?

Music. Photography books. Home decorating. Many things. I just started using pinterest last year to organize my inspiration. It’s wonderful!
What is your favorite Winter activity?
During the winter season I enjoy vintage/antique shopping, or just relaxing at home with my dog, some tea and a movie.
What are you listening to at the moment?
BRUTUS

"I would wear this jacket on the every day. Cuddling on the couch next to the wood stove, on a hike, the fabric is so comfortable it's like having a light blanker over you all day. It makes me think of the forest because the green is so deep and rich. I think that's why I chose it."

"I would also use this bag as an everyday accessory. I am a big canvas bag user as my "purse" and this bag naturally feels like a step up from that with its beautiful color patterns and durability."

"I go to NYC often for work and this cropped design feels like it is elevating my look while still giving me that comfortable earthy mood I feel agreeable in."

There you have it, three of our favorite people in three of their favorite pieces! It is always so exciting for us to see which pieces everyone is drawn to. You can check out all of these beautiful pieces, plus plenty more, online now.

Love Jesse, Kelsey, Julian and Team NAMAI xx
