Dear Friends,

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a question I keep coming back to: Why does Namai exist, and what do I hope it brings to the world?

In times of uncertainty, I find myself going inward—and what I’ve landed on are the values that quietly but powerfully guide everything we do.

I've always been inspired by the notion of Ahimsa—the path of non-violence. To me, it means more than just not causing harm. It’s about leaving people better than we found them. Is there a word for that? I’d love to know.

I used to believe that the most sustainable thing I could do was not start a brand—there’s already so much stuff in the world. So when I began designing the first Namai jackets, I knew I had to be intentional.

What gave me the confidence to keep going was seeing how excited the tailors and artisans were to receive an order, and how meaningful that work was for them. I felt it again at markets, watching someone light up when they found their perfect jacket. And I’ve felt it in the studio—watching our team thrive in a space filled with color, creativity, and a commitment to fair, dignified work. These moments remind me that creation, when done with care and purpose, can be a force for good.

At Namai, we ask ourselves daily: Will this piece make someone feel good? Can we make it in a way that’s kind to our artisans? How do we reduce waste? How can we create little moments of connection—with you?

Our goal is simple (but not easy): that every interaction you have with us leaves you feeling just a little better.

I’d love to hear from you. What drew you to Namai? What do you hope to see more of? Send us an email —I’m listening.

Warmly,

Bianca
