LA BELLA VITA! OR... WHY YOU SHOULD WEAR YOUR NAMAI WHILST GARDENING...

I grew up with a mother who made many of her own clothes: mohair knitted coats, colourful silk balloon skirts (it was the '80s, after all). Then she would proceed to wear them while gardening. There wasn't a sense of saving the best for a special occasion, because everyday life itself was a creative act, and wearing beautiful clothing was simply part of it.

Remembering that recently got me thinking about the Italian concept of la bella vita, a beautiful idea that closely mirrors the way I think about clothing, and life.

La bella vita simply means "the beautiful life." It's not about luxury or perfection, but about finding beauty in everyday moments: tending a garden, sharing a meal outdoors, wearing something you love even when no one else is watching.

I've always believed that beautiful things are meant to be lived in, and not saved for later. Sometimes that means wearing your favourite jacket to dinner. Sometimes it means wearing the xoti bag while planting tomatoes.

To test this concept we went to our local plant centre to pick out some seedlings with our friend Kelsey.

CONCLUSION? THE XOTI BAG IS THE PERFECT PLANT-CARRIER!

Its colours are inspiring, and pair perfectly with a beautiful Spring planting.

The soft kantha fabric is gentle on plants yet sturdy enough to carry heavy pots, and once it's all home, its fully washable.

HAPPY PLANTING

Perhaps la bella vita is simply this: seeing the beauty in our surroundings, and taking the time to enjoy it in the present moment.

Love,

Bianca
