Summer is finally here! In honour of our new Tanay Shorts and matching Kaira Crop Jackets the team took a little walk some nature to show them off and chat about the summer.

The shorts are fun and versatile, and they are sold separately, but if you so choose, the matching jacket is available for most shorts.

What's the most beautiful beach you have ever been to?
The one that captured my heart is a little beach in a protected park on the Okanagon Lake in Canada, where I spent some of my childhood. Getting there was tricky, we’d hike a couple miles down a steep mountainside, looking out for rattlesnakes, but once we arrived, the beach was perfect. Just big enough to fit our family, on the shores of a huge lake. Round smooth pebbles were comforting to lay on; and when I’d get so hot I could barely stand it I’d plunge into the fresh cool lake. Laying there in the dry crackling heat, surrounded by fragrant Ponderosa pines and the faint sounds of jet skis in the distance, reading a book, that’s the feeling of summer for me.
What's your favourite book to read on the beach?
I like to think of myself as a fairly literary person... but when I’m on the beach I want something action packed, upbeat and a little spicy to keep my attention, and the great Jackie Collins never disappoints!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
We’re doing a market at Newport Folk Fest this July, and I’ve been looking forward to it for months! I’m hoping to catch some of my favorite artists in the evening, including Gillian Welch, Hermanos Gutierrez, the War on Drugs and more… And hopefully meet some fun people along the way!

What's the most beautiful beach you have ever been to?
I grew up in Australia so I’m very spoilt when it comes to nice beaches. Nothing beats the Aussie coast! Queensland has beautiful surf beaches but my favourite spot is actually in a tiny beach town called Blairgowrie off the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. It has these beautiful tides pools that I could float in all day.

Poolside lounging or ocean wave jumping?
I am such a fish you won’t catch me lounging by the side of water often, good luck getting me out! I actually do prefer swimming in a pool though.

What are you looking forward to this summer?
I’m seeing some of my favourite bands; Middle Kids, Houndmouth and Dr. Dog this summer so I'm really looking forward to seeing some great live music!

What's the most beautiful beach you have ever been to?
I went to Saint John this past February for a vacation. My favorite beach there was Trunk Bay Beach. The color of the water was stunning and the sand was so soft. We ended up going there twice in the week we were there. It just felt perfect.

Favorite books to read on the beach?

I used to always bring a novel to the beach but never read them. I’ve recently realized that I prefer to take in the sounds of the ocean or just people watch, instead of reading. Just be in the moment and observe my surroundings.

What are you looking forward to this summer?

I really want to do some camping with my boyfriend and our dog. A nice spot with a stream you can cool off in.

What's the most beautiful beach you have ever been to?
Nicest beach I’ve ever been to was in Thailand, Railay Beach. The water is crystal clear and it is framed by amazing limestone cliffs and secret coves to explore.

Favorite books to read on the beach?
The Brilliant Abyss by Helen Scales about deep sea ocean life which I am so fascinated by.

Poolside lounging or ocean wave jumping?
Ocean wave jumping all the way! I actually don’t really like pools unless its the only option. Too much chlorine.

What are you looking forward to this summer?
I am looking forward to finishing remodeling projects, jumping into swimming holes and finding new waterfalls.
