The Denim Kaira is our cropped jacket style made from upcycled denim jeans rather than vintage Kantha quilts. It shares the same relaxed, boxy silhouette, mandarin collar, rollable sleeves, and coconut shell buttons as the Quilted Kaira, but with a denim aesthetic and a soft cotton lining inside. It is a great option if you love the Kaira shape but are looking for something with a more casual, everyday denim feel.
The Medium Denim Kaira is the same fit as the Kantha Kaira Jacket.
Yes! Each Denim Kaira is made from upcycled denim jeans, meaning the placement of patches, the fading, and the overall character of each piece is completely unique. No two are alike and we never duplicates an exact design, so the exact jacket you see photographed is the one you will receive.
The Denim Kaira comes in three sizes, Small, Medium and Large. The Medium is the same fit as the Kantha Kaira Jacket if you are using that as a reference. You can find the full measurements for each size listed under the "Specs and Fit" section on the product page. We recommend measuring a jacket you already own and love the fit of to use as a reference when comparing.

The Denim Kaira is not reversible like the Kantha styles. Instead, it is fully lined in a soft cotton fabric for a clean, comfortable finish on the inside.
Kaira is pronounced "KEYE-ruh" and in Hindi means "Peaceful" or "Pure".
